Shipping and Shopping Tips and Tricks
On Guam, we all have our shipping secrets. Learn from our experience in online shopping. Consider this your inside source into how to get the things you want. There are some tricks that are more effective than others, and some have a little risk involved (usually not more than a chargeback on your card or some lost time).
Tip 1: Always order on Sunday or Monday. Simple but effective tip. A lot about getting products shipped to Guam is about the WAIT. Ordering on Sunday or Monday decreases the time you have to wait since it cuts non-business days out of the equation. For instance an order placed on Monday gets processed on Monday in the States. It will ship on that day unless the order says otherwise. This ensures all Transit days are business days. This is the best way to the the Ordered-on-Monday-and-received-on-a-Friday experience.
Tip 2: Don't watch the mailbox. Hard to follow, but easy on your mind. Resist the temptation to check the mail everyday. Especially important when shipping without tracking. Just relax. Here are the steps.
• Make a notation on the calendar the day you place the order.
• Estimate the arrival time at 10 business days minumum for priority mail. Five business days for 3-day shipping or express.
• Mark your estimated arrival time on the calendar.
• Check your mail as normal — make no extra trips to the post office.
• Try to forget about the package.
• Check the mail on your estimated arrival day.
Remember that the best mail comes when you're not thinking about it. It's like a bonus!
Tip 3: Use your Google. If you were given a tracking number, pop it into a google search box like the one at the top of this page to get a quick link to the transit and tracking info. No need to go to the shipper's or seller's site if you have the number handy. For extra speed, bookmark your search.
